Police: Burglar Stole Panties, Perfume From College Women's Homes

Police Seize Pistol, Bag With Rope, Handcuffs From Suspect's Home

Alliance police on Wednesday seized 276 pairs of women's underwear and other personal items from the residence of a suspected burglar.

Police said the search warrant executed at a Federal Avenue home was the result of a two-year investigation of six burglaries that all targeted the home of Mount Union College female students.

Thomas Smith, 25, was arrested on one count of receiving stolen property, relating to a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol found during the search, but police said they expect to file additional charges of burglary, theft and menacing by stalking.

Items seized during the search and believed to have been taken during the burglaries also included 38 bras, 58 bottles of perfumes and lotions, hundred of pictures of the burglary victims, along with a duffle bag that contained rope, duct tape and handcuffs.

Anyone with information in this case should call Alliance police at 330-821-9140.
