FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- This is the time of year when you hear a lot of warnings about coyote sightings, and now there's proof that the animals are among us.One of the animals has been caught on tape. Bassam Saliba installs surveillance systems for a living, and he has one around his Fairview Park home to show prospective customers.Recently, his marketing tool captured an intruder."Our next-door neighbor, Lin, told us there was a coyote in our back yard," Saliba said. The video shows the coyote bolting around a tree and across the driveway before jumping over a neighbor's fence."Amazing. I never even thought there would be a coyote anywhere near this area," said Saliba.Coyote sightings are common in the spring, but they are rarely caught on camera, and usually they are spotted in more wooded areas. This coyote sighting worries some."I'm concerned that he could get small animals like my cat or the little dog that lives next door," said neighbor Linda Miller. The camera shows small children playing outside seconds after the coyote ran away. Fairview police have been notified and are on the lookout for the animal.Coyotes tend so shy away from people, but this one has left quite an impression."I thought it was so cool. It was just beautiful, such a beautiful animal. His tail is a lot bigger than what it looks on the video. Just beautiful," said Saliba.Experts said coyote migration patterns are expanding into more populated areas year by year.Usually they are just as scared of people as we are of them, but small pets are in danger in areas where coyotes have been spotted.
