BRATENAHL, Ohio -- Bratenahl's police chief says he is cooperating in every way with the investigation of missing evidence from his department's property room.

Chief Paul Falzone disputes reports that he refused to take a lie detector test, and said he'll take a polygraph test anytime, anywhere, reported NewsChannel5's Duane Pohlman.

Missing evidence includes guns, cocaine and heroin and thousands of dollars, all confiscated from criminals.

Also missing is a book that documents each piece of evidence for five years.

After months of internal and state investigation, the 15-year police chief was placed on paid administrative leave.

After NewsChannel5 sought an interview, Falzone said he can't talk about a continuing investigation.

Reacting to reports that he refused to take the lie-detector test, the chief clearly stated, "I never refused anything."

While controversy swirls and the investigation continues, the day-to-day job of running the police department now falls on the shoulders of Sgt. Richard Dolbow.

Ohio's attorney general's office is now backing away from its original statement, confirming that the chief has not refused to take a lie-detector test.

The investigation of the missing evidence is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
