PARMA, Ohio -- A deer in Parma has a plastic bucket stuck on its head. Parma communications director Jack Marschall said that he took the picture of the deer on Tuesday. The deer and others were seen in the back yard of the Hardy family's home on York Road near Sprague Road. The city of Parma contacted the animal warden, who then contacted the local office of Ohio Department of Natural Resources.Division of Wildlife officials said they are fully aware of the situation with the white-tailed deer in Parma. "If we dispatch the deer right now, it obviously has no chance of survival whatsoever," said Dan Kramer, wildlife management supervisor for Division of Wildlife in northeast Ohio. "We are hoping once it gets hungry or thirsty, it will thrash around a bit more and consequently dislodge the container. The deer is exhibiting no signs of suffering at this point. If in fact the animal's welfare takes a downturn, Division of Wildlife officials will then take action." A similar situation took place at Halloween when a deer had a plastic Jack-o-lantern stuck on its head in Broadview Heights.Division of Wildlife officials remind Ohioans to protect wildlife from these circumstances by disposing of garbage properly.
