A woman was arrested Monday, accused of leaving an infant in a car seat carrier outside an Eastlake Wal-Mart store unattended.

Dorothy Dingwall-Foster, 55, the godmother of the 2-month-old girl, said that she put down her car seat next to her car at about 9:30 a.m. while she chased $50 cash that flew out of her purse, NewsChannel5's Maurielle Lue reported.

A Wal-Mart employee said she got the baby after about six minutes and brought her into the store. Dingwall-Foster told Lue it wasn't that long.

Police said the godmother was charged with child endangering. She faces six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. Officers said when they located Dingwall-Foster she had $50 in her pocket.

The baby was taken to Hillcrest Hospital to be reunited with her parents.

The godmother runs a licensed daycare out of her home.
