Two brothers were sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison each for a shooting spree at a tattoo party in January.

John and Courtland Scales were each convicted on 10 counts of felonious assault for the shooting spree, which took place at the Knight's Inn in North Randall.

Prosecutors said the brothers were involved in an argument in one of the hotel's party rooms and opened fire on the crowd, injuring five men.

The brothers could have faced up to 45 years in prison if given the maximum sentence.
