Guard Indicted In Alleged Shoplifter's Death

41-Year-Old Died Of Head Injuries

A grand jury indicted Dillard's security guard Jameel Talley Thursday on charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter.

NewsChannel5 reported that Guy Wills (pictured, left), 41, apparently became hostile after he was caught allegedly shoplifting at Dillard's at Randall Park Mall by Talley, the store's hired security guard (pictured, below).

Wills and Talley engaged in a scuffle, and Wills was taken to the hospital after the altercation and signed his own release form. He then went to the North Randall Police Department, where he reportedly got sick.

Police eventually released Wills to his mother. She took him to an area hospital, where he went into a coma and died.

Jameel Talley The coroner's official ruling is that Wills died from head injuries. He had internal bleeding and bruising, a fractured skull and a broken left collarbone.

Talley, who also worked as a Maple Heights police officer for the last 18 months, was placed on paid administrative leave after the incident.
