Police said Charles Hammond, 39, held up a gym bag and said it was a bomb when he walked into the Westside Animal Hospital at about 8:45 a.m. Thursday. There were no customers inside the building at the time, only the veterinarian and three employees.

The veterinarian was performing surgery on a dog at the time. One employee ended of fled to a nearby business.
