Man Dies In I-77 Crash

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- A man died after being taken to the hospital from a crash in Independence.His midsized SUV went off Interstate 77 at the I-480 split. The vehicle traveled up a median embankment, struck an overhead road sign, causing the vehicle to flip and roll over, coming to rest upside down on the roof.The man had to be cut out of the car. He was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.The crash caused the onramps from I-77 south to I-480 west and east to be closed for a couple of hours Wednesday night.The man's identity is not being released yet.Police are investigating.
