Classes are starting two hours late Thursday after a gun was found at Garfield Heights High School on Wednesday.

Assistant Superintendent Joan Chamberlin said school would open at 10 a.m. so that officials could conduct meetings and reset.

Letters were sent home to parents of students enrolled in the school about the incident on Wednesday. The letter said that a student was found to be in possession of an unloaded firearm in his locker.

The gun was confiscated, and the student was suspended. He faces expulsion.

The matter has also been turned over to the police department.
