LAKE COUNTY, Ohio -- Hazmat crews are investigating a mysterious powder substance discovered outside a Lake County business on Monday.

The substance was discovered near the front door of All Occasion Limousine Company on Linden Street in Mentor-on-the-Lake.

The owner said he never saw the person who left the small package.

Willoughby and Mentor-on-the-Lake fire departments are also assisting in the investigation.

"They've got some very good meters they can use to try and determine what it is, but again, it takes some time and we do have to do further research," said Fire Chief Bob Mahoney.

Officials said they don't believe the powder is a hazard to the community, but will keep testing to find out what it is.
