The City Council wants to rename a portion of an area roadway in honor of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

On Monday, City Council members proposed renaming Kinsman Road in Tubbs Jones' honor.

Tubbs Jones, 58, died after suffering a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm.

Kinsman Road Could Be Renamed To Honor Tubbs Jones

The council wants the part of U.S. 422 known as Kinsman Road renamed, as well as a portion of Chagrin Boulevard. The portion of the roadway suggested for renaming is from the Cleveland border to Interstate 271.

"It would be fantastic to be able to say 'we're not marching down Kinsman; we are marching down Stephanie Tubbs Jones Memorial Highway,' " said Councilman Zack Reed.

State Sen. Shirley Smith will introduce the legislation.
