A woman died in a fire at her Lakewood home overnight.

The Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office said Lisa Bradley, 45, died early this morning at her home on Larchmont Avenue.

The fire marshal told NewsChannel5 they still don't exactly know what caused the fire, but said it started on a piece of furniture and spread through the bed, nightstand and a dresser.

Inside they found candles, ashtrays, and cigarettes.

Bradley lived in the downstairs apartment for more than five years. Her landlord lived upstairs.

Fire officials said the landlord pulled Bradley from her bedroom after smelling the smoke.

"The resident on the second floor was awakened by the smoke. He came down, found the tenant in the bedroom. He dragged her from the house to the front porch and started CPR on her," said Lakewood Fire Marshal Scott Gilman.

He said the smoke detector inside never went off, because someone had removed the batteries.

This is the second fire death in Lakewood in more than 15 years.

The investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
