Ohio's new Keno game hit businesses last month but it's not doing as well as the state predicted.

The game of chance brought in less sales than anticipated.

The Ohio Lottery said summer is a slow time for the game, and it's too early to make predictions about the game's success.

As of Aug. 31, Keno brought in $7.2 million and awarded $4.6 million in prizes.

Kilbane says weekly sales have been around $1.8 million since the game began Aug. 4.

Lottery officials expected before Keno's launch that it would bring in $292 million annually to help plug a projected budget deficit.

The lottery hopes Keno will bring in $292 million to help a budget deficit.
