LORAIN, Ohio -- The Cleveland Marine Safety Unit is investigating damage caused by a freighter Tuesday in the Black River. The U.S. Coast Guard said the Canadian Progress went off course while going up river at about 2:30 a.m.Images: Boats, Pier Damaged The Coast Guard said the 730-foot dry bulk carrier did not follow the proper course and created a big wake.The wake caused significant damage to the pier and two recreational boats at Spitzer Marina.The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the crash.
