CLEVELAND -- A suspect is in jail Tuesday morning in connection with an attack in Ohio City, police say.

The attack happened a year ago, but residents are still on edge because of several other recent attacks, including one that happened over the weekend.

A 25-year-old woman said she was attacked in her own home.

She said she was sleeping early Saturday morning, when she woke up to someone on top of her.

"I just started screaming, and struggling, and trying to push whoever it was off of me," she said. "And the person kept putting their hand over my face, and they said, 'Shut up or I'll kill you.' "

That didn't stop her from fighting, even though she knew the attacker had a knife.

"I just kept telling myself, keep screaming, keep screaming, don't stop. I didn't even realize that I was cut until like 10 minutes later," the victim said.

Police have been investigating similar cases since last August.

Each woman fought off the attacker. Four attacks are currently under investigation.

The victim in the latest incident said she thinks she was targeted because whoever attacked her knew she was alone.
