Stow police arrested two people after they say they found more than 100 marijuana plants in a home's hidden room.

Police said two officers on bicycles patrol last week smelled marijuana coming from the dryer vent of an Elizabeth Drive home. They said they observed surveillance cameras mounted on the home.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers entered the home and discovered a hidden room in the basement containing more than 100 potted marijuana plants, 69 of which were mature.

The room also contained special lights, fans, fertilizers and other growing equipment. They also found steroids and syringes, a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition.

Police said the drugs had a street value of $75,000.

The residents of the home, who were in the Bahamas at the time of the search, turned themselves in to police on Friday.

John Constantine, 33, and Christine Constantine, 30, are charged with cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana.

Both appeared in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court and were released on bond.
