CLEVELAND -- A driver was hit in the head with a gun and shot in the foot during a robbery at a gas station at East 88th Street and Buckeye Avenue Thursday morning.

Officials said two drivers were robbed and carjacked by six men at the Marathon gas station. This happened around 2 a.m. Thursday. The stolen cars were recovered.

Police said the men surrounded two cars as the owners were pumping gas. They allegedly threw the drivers on the ground and robbed the drivers and passengers, and then stole the vehicles.

One man was hit in the head with a gun and shot in the foot. In all, four people were treated and released from MetroHealth Medical Center.

Police are reviewing surveillance video.
