LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- A local city council voted to ban pit bulls at a meeting Monday night.

Lakewood Councilman Brian Powers, who introduced the legislation, said the number of pit bull complaints had gone up.

That's why he said he introduced legislation banning the dogs.

City Council hosted several public meetings to debate the issue.
