Heavy Rain Causes Flooding In Ashtabula

ASHTABULA, Ohio -- Low-lying areas in Ashtabula County have been flooded Tuesday.A flash flood warning is in effect for the county until 2 p.m.The National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated 1 to 3 inches of rain fell in the past hour near Conneaut.Motorists should be alert for closed roadways.Officials said locations in the warning include but are not limited to Waterford, North East, Girard, Erie, North Kingsville and Conneaut.They also warned that excessive runoff from the storms will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.When seeing standing water motorists are reminded to turn around, don't drown.
