Teen To Appear In Court, Accused Of Shooting Woman On Porch

CLEVELAND -- Cuyahoga County's juvenile court said 17-year-old Marcus Hardwick was arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting of Cleveland woman on her porch last week. A bullet stuck and killed Ebony Jefferson, 31, as she was playing cards on the porch of a home on East 146th Street.Officials said Hardwick has a criminal history. Judge Peter Sikora sent Hardwick to the Youth Development Center in Hudson for a 2007 charge of carrying a concealed weapon.He also sent Hardwick to the Ohio Department of Youth Services in 2007 for a charge of possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone and carrying a concealed weapon.The latest warrant was issued was for the charge of aggravated murder, a felony of the first degree.Hardwick will be arraigned on Monday morning at Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, where he will be officially charged.A joint funeral was held Saturday for Jefferson, and her mother Lorena, who died just days earlier from breast cancer.Jefferson, a mother of two, was a nursing assistant for Cuyahoga County.
