You'll see something in downtown Cleveland this week that you normally only see in December.

The Salvation Army in Cleveland is rolling out its red kettles out of season to drum up donations for its Christmas in July campaign.

The kettles normally don't show up until around the Christmas holiday, but this year the organization needs more money for people hit hard by higher prices for gas and food.

Celebrity and volunteer bell ringers are collecting donations in downtown Friday through next week.

NewsChannel5 reporters Maurielle Lue and Dan Haggarty are participating in Friday's collection, and are ringing bells at Public Square.
