TWINSBURG, Ohio -- Family and friends are expected to gather Friday morning to pay their final respects to a Twinsburg police officer killed in the line of duty.The funeral for Officer Joshua Miktarian will take place at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oakwood Village.Police will close the northbound lane of Route 91 for the funeral procession. Citizens are encouraged to gather alongside the road to honor Miktarian.The procession will begin at the Donovan Funeral Home in Tallmadge, moving north on Route 91 to Ravenna Road in Twinsburg, and continuing to Broadway to Mt. Zion.The procession is expected to arrive at the church around 9:30 a.m.The service and the burial to follow are open to family and law enforcement only.Friday morning's funeral procession will be streamed live on NewsNet5.com. Police have arrested and charged 23-year-old Ashford Thompson in connection with the shooting.The 33-year-old Miktarian is survived by his wife, Holly, and his 3-month-old daughter, Thea.
