Funeral Services Set For Slain Twinsburg Officer

TWINSBURG, Ohio -- Funeral services have been set for a Twinsburg police officer killed in the line of duty over the weekend.Viewing hours for 33-year-old Officer Joshua Miktarian will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Donovan Funeral Home, located at 17 Southwest Avenue in Tallmadge.His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oakwood Village.Miktarian was shot and killed during a traffic stop early Sunday morning. Police said he pulled over 23-year-old Ashford Thompson for playing loud music and suspicion of drunken driving.A preliminary report showed that Miktarian died from four gunshot wounds to the head.Thompson pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Monday and bond was set at $5 million.Miktarian leaves behind a wife, Holly, and 3-month-old daughter, Thea.He was the first Twinsburg officer to be killed in the line of duty in the force's 56-year history.
