Death Of Retired Police Sergeant Investigated As Homicide

Canton police are investigating a homicide that took place overnight Wednesday.

The homicide occurred on Spring Avenue Northeast. The victim is 76-year-old Earl Schoeneman, a retired Sgt with the Canton Police Department.

The Stark County coroner's office said it received the body of a male and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Officials continue to investigate the death as a homicide.

There are no suspects and no arrests.
