WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio -- A Wayne County man says he's only alive today because of the actions of his 5-year-old daughter.Jim Taylor was driving through farmland with his daughter, Elizabeth, in the back seat when he lost control of his car."I just remember rolling over and I remember seeing the grass through my windshield and then not being there and then I remember it being there again and that's when I finally passed out," Taylor said. The car was lying upside down in a field and Elizabeth was still buckled in the backseat.Images: Crash, Hospital Pictures Her father was hanging out of the car, bleeding internally. The girl suffered a broken bone near her eye, was bleeding, crying and was scared. But she set out on the road to look for help, and when she found a man cutting his grass, she was able to direct him a mile down the road to her grandmother's house."Those people that picked her up, I still don't know who they are and I would really like to thank them because it meant the world to me," said grandmother Martha Taylor.Jim and Elizabeth Taylor were airlifted to Akron General. Two days later, Taylor woke up with five broken ribs, a cut spleen and a daughter to thank."She's supposed to be dependent on me and here's a situation where I owe her my life," he said.Jim Taylor is not allowed to lift anything and is still not allowed to drive. He has another cat scan scheduled in a couple of weeks. He said one good thing that came out of this is that he lost 45 pounds -- he calls it his crash diet.
