CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police told NewsChannel5 that they responded to an accident at East 149th Street near Glendale Park just after 6 p.m. Wednesday.Police said that a 5-year-old girl attempted to cross the street to get to a nearby park and was struck by a car.Marielle Lee sustained a serious head injury and is in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center.The car that hit her was driven by a man who lives in the area. Police said they do not believe that he is at fault.Police have not released the names of the driver at this time.
