Jail Guard Accused Of Raping Female Inmate

CLEVELAND -- A jail guard at the Warrensville Heights Jail is accused of raping a female inmate.

George Sims, 27, was indicted Thursday on charges of rape, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, sexual battery and intimidation.

Prosecutors said the Maple Heights resident forced the woman to have sex with him in her jail cell on April 28.

If convicted, Sims faces up to 35 years in prison.
