Video Shows Store Clerk Pulling Gun On Robbers

UPDATED: 6:26 pm EDT May 20, 2008

New surveillance video has been released from a botched store robbery in Akron.

Last week, three suspects walked into the wrong neighborhood store, where a fed-up clerk pulled out his own gun and fought back.

The three robbers, two of whom are in their teens, walked into the Delia Street Market, off of West Exchange Street.

The video shows one of the robbers waving a gun, getting close to the heads and faces of a customer and store employees.

It then shows some of the robbers going behind the counter. An apparent scuffle unfolds as one store employee gets his own gun.

The clerk fired his pistol several times at the robbers. The outside camera shows all three robbers running through the parking lot.

Police said one of the suspects is a 17-year-old who was shot in the leg. The suspect was arrested at a local hospital minutes after the robbery.

Authorities also arrested 18-year-old William Oldham.

Police said they don't encourage anyone to take the law into their own hands.

The third robber is still at large. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 330-434-COPS.
