PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio -- A ferry company that carries tourists to the Lake Erie islands has to raise ticket prices to offset gas prices, officials said.

The vice president of Jet Express said the company is now charging a 7 percent fuel charge.

Its catamarans are likely to burn $1 million worth of fuel this summer.
