STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- A woman was trapped in her van Monday morning after a crash in Strongsville.

The woman said she was trying to avoid a deer in the roadway and ended up hitting a pole, breaking it in half.

The crash near Priem and Fair roads brought wires down around the vehicle.

Emergency crews made the woman stay in the van until crews could determine what the lines were and power could be shut off.

She was transported to Southwest General Hospital. There was no immediate word on her injuries.
