LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- One person was taken to the hospital with burns after a condominium building caught fire in Lakewood. Several residents spent the night away from their homes after the blaze ripped through the six-story Kirtland House on Warren Road at about 10 p.m. Sunday. Officials said that the fire started in a condo on the second floor of the building. That's where the resident got burned. The person was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Two other residents were taken to Lakewood Hospital as a precaution. They have since been released. A firefighter was treated for an arm injury."I had to crawl out, it was that thick. I'm glad I didn't stay because I don't think I'd be here having this conversation if I had," said neighbor Chris Abrahamsen. Fire officials said a candle started the blaze.
