Dog Hangs Himself, Saved By CPR

Woman's Prayer Comes True

UPDATED: 4:29 pm EDT August 21, 2002

A German shepherd was brought back to life after hanging himself from a car window.

Patricia Johnson said that she took 3-year-old Moses with her last Thursday when she made a quick stop where she works.

Johnson said that she only ran inside for a few minutes when Moses, still on his leash, became tangled as he jumped out the driver's side window.

Johnson said that when she returned to the car she saw Moses wasn't breathing, his eyes were glazed and his tongue had turned black.

"I put his tongue back in his mouth it was completely black," Johnson said. "I ... put my hand over his mouth. I said, 'Please, Lord don't take him.' About the third time I took a deep breath, he came to."

A man by the name of Jack Frost helped Johnson with the CPR by giving the animal chest compressions.

Johnson said that Moses has made a complete recovery.
