Fugitive Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges

Cleveland police and U.S. marshals arrested a man wanted on attempted murder charges after finding him hiding in the closet of an acquaintance's home.

Police said 30-year-old Rory Campbell, of Warrensville Heights, had been on the run for almost a month, wanted in the attempted murder of a Garfield Heights woman.

He was discovered at a home on Central Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He faces charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery and kidnapping in connection with the April 15 attack of a woman at East 37th Street and Central Avenue.

The victim suffered multiple skull and facial fractures.

Campbell is being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
