CLEVELAND -- Italy has reached an agreement with the Cleveland Museum of Art for the return of artifacts that Rome says have been looted or smuggled out of the country. The Culture Ministry said Friday that 16 artifacts will be returned but did not provide details. Culture minister Sandro Rutelli said the artifacts in question are significant ones. Rome has kept pressure on museums worldwide to hand over treasures it said were looted or illegally trafficked. It has reached agreements with the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
