CLEVELAND -- Four federal contractors working to decommission a nuclear reactor near Sandusky in northern Ohio have been charged with fraudulently billing the government. Federal prosecutor Bill Edwards said the four overbilled a total of $347,664. They are accused of falsely claiming they lived farther from the NASA Glenn Research Center's Plum Brook station and were entitled to per-diem travel payments. Edwards said all four lived less than 50 miles from their work and weren't entitled to the daily payments of up to $75. None of the four has commented on the indictment announced Thursday.
