CLEVELAND -- A cherry picker crashed into the windows of an apartment building on the west bank of the Flats, NewsChannel5 reported.

A worker was in the bucket of the cherry picker outside the Stonebridge Plaza on Washington Avenue at about 9 a.m. when it started to give way.

A resident said the man jumped onto an apartment balcony as the crane started to collapse and the bucket hit the windows.

Three apartment suites were damaged when the plate-glass windows were hit.

There was no immediate word on what caused the crane to give way.
