Woman Turns Self In Over Dying Child Scam

BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- A woman accused of scamming people out of money by claiming her young daughter had leukemia turned herself in at the Brunswick Police Department Tuesday.Amanda D. Zolnowski, 20, is charged with forgery. Police said she told fellow students and employees at Raphael's School of Beauty that her child was dying, who in turn rallied around the woman and raised money.When some people began to get suspicious of Zolnowski's story, police became involved.Zolnowski is being held at the Medina County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
