LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio -- The Metroparks' Carlisle Reservation in Lorain County is closed as the sheriff's department investigates the abduction and shooting of a 43-year-old woman.The Lorain County Sheriff's Department is investigating the abduction and assault of a 43-year-old Carlisle Township woman in the Metroparks' Carlisle Reservation.Authorities said the incident took place at the equestrian center, near LaGrange. A 25-year-old homeless man, identified as Matthew Plas, has been arrested.Officials said the suspect shot the woman in the back, possibly sexually assaulted her and then put her in the trunk of his car and drove off.Authorities said some witnesses saw the woman hanging out of the trunk and called 911. The victim was later found along a roadside and the suspect was later apprehended.The victim's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, officials said.The sheriff's department is continuing to investigate the incident. The area of the Carlisle Reservation remains closed Tuesday night.
