CLEVELAND -- A local woman was found naked on a stranger's porch, bound and gagged with duct tape after she said two men kidnapped her and her baby at gunpoint, NewsChannel5 reported.Cleveland detectives are trying to figure why someone would put duct tape all over a 3-month-old baby girl and then leave her under a tree at Luke Easter Park.The baby's mother said the terrifying ordeal unfolded around 10 p.m. Friday. The 21-year-old woman said the nightmare started on Soika Avenue, a street she once lived on.
Woman, Baby Found Duct Taped She said she was walking toward a friend's house carrying her 3-month-old daughter when a van with two men inside pulled up alongside of her twice. The second time, she said, one of the men pulled a silver handgun and told her to get in if she wanted to live."I wanted to run, but I was scared. If I run, was he going to shoot me or hurt my daughter? I paused and I stood there and just froze up," the mother said.She got in the van and said she remembered being choked inside the vehicle. She's not sure what happened next. According to a police report, the woman was found naked on the front porch of a home on Audubon Avenue, less than a mile from where she said she was kidnapped, and she was covered in duct tape. "My mouth was duct taped and my legs, my ankles were duct taped," the mother said.The police report said the baby was found across the street under a tree in the park. Her mouth, head and limbs were also covered in duct tape."I'm definitely scared and it's sick. I don't care about myself. it was more that my daughter was involved in it," she said.Police are treating the case as a kidnapping, assault and possible rape. The sex crimes unit is investigating. The woman's mother is calling for justice. "It hurts a lot of people. My whole family is devastated by this. Like I told my family, I want everybody to step back and let the system work," the victim's mother said.According to the victim's mother, the baby could have been out in the cold for as long as a couple of hours. She was treated at MetroHealth Medical Center for abrasions from the duct tape.The 21-year-old mother was treated for abrasions and bruises to different parts of her body.
