An elderly couple was found locked in their Delora Avenue home Thursday after being robbed by men posing as water department employees.

Police said 79-year-old Adila Fronczvk and her 82-year-old husband, Mieczvslaw, were not hurt during the robbery.

Police said the culprits told the couple that they needed to check the water. They took the husband into the basement.

His wife realized something was wrong and told the men to leave. Police said one of the robbers made a cell phone call and three more people arrived. The robbers took $100 from the woman's purse.

Police said the men were all in their 20s and were wearing dark clothing.
