STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- A teacher in Strongsville was indicted Monday in a sex case, NewsChannel5 reported. John Bacho, 32, is accused of having a relationship with a 17-year-old student. Police said their five-month investigation was complicated by the high school's delay in reporting the allegation. The Strongsville School District did its own internal investigation in November, but school officials said they found no evidence of criminal activity. However, a Cuyahoga County grand jury charged Bacho with five counts of sexual battery and one count of possession of a criminal tool. Prosecutors said that because Bacho is in a position of authority, Ohio law makes sex with the girl a third-degree felony. Otherwise, it would not have been a crime because the girl was a willing partner. Bacho, the father of three young children, voluntarily resigned. He had been on the job since 2001.
