Video Shows Officer Using Stun Gun On Benedictine Grad

Family Pleads For Privacy

Video of a police officer using a stun gun on a local man outside a bar near Miami University shows him getting shocked for about 10 seconds as he rolls around on a sidewalk.

The video was released Tuesday of the incident involving Oxford officer Geoff Robinson.

Kevin Piskura, 24, a Benedictine High School and Miami University graduate, is heard screaming as police shocked him outside the Brick Street restaurant.

Police said Piskura tried to interfere with the arrest of a Mundelein, Ill., man early Saturday outside the bar, forcing officers to use their Taser.

Police said they shocked Piskura for disobeying police.

Officers said they called a life squad when Piskura had trouble breathing, and he was taken to an Oxford hospital and then by helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati. He remains in critical condition.

Piskura's family released a statement Tuesday, saying they know the truth will be revealed.

The family said that they are sure an independent investigation into the incident will reveal who was at fault.

The Oxford police chief announced the Butler County Sheriff's Office would conduct the internal investigation into the incident.

Piskura's family said they wanted privacy and prayers for him until the investigation is complete.

Piskura is the son of a retired Bedford police officer and grew up in Walton Hills.

He graduated from Benedictine High School in 2002.
