AKRON, Ohio -- Akron police have been busy dealing with several armed robberies in the area, targeting everything from businesses and homeowners to Akron University students.Police are investingating eight robberies in the city since Wednesday.Officers said two men armed with a shotgun first hit a Circle-K on Kenmore Avenue, and a dry cleaners was hit for $40.Police said the men also hit the Kappa Sigma fraternity house."I've never experienced anything like that so it's like I'm in a movie or something," one student said. The men walked into the back door of the house on Thornton Street during a late-night party."He looked at me and said, 'Hey we're not messing around.' He pointed the gun at my chest and proceeded to walk in," said sophomore Jon Boyajian. At first, freshman Daniel Dixon and nearly a dozen of his fraternity brothers thought it was a joke."I blocked my wallet from him, then he pushed me up against the wall and put the gun between my eyes, and that's when I noticed the hammer was actually cocked back on the gun," Dixon said.As party-goers ran upstairs to call police, the men collected cash and fled through the back yard."I couldn't believe it happened. We'd heard robberies and stuff like that going on but it's not one of those things you think's gonna happen to you," said senior Joe Nist.In all eight robbery cases officials said the suspects' descriptions seem to differ. Police can't say if any of the robberies are connected.
