CLEVELAND -- An out of control school bus smashed into a bridge without a driver on Monday, and now there is new information about who may have been at fault. The bus driver, Michael Weir, could face a ticket and possibly more severe charges after he allegedly left the bus while making a pit stop at a downtown gas station. There is now a battle centered on who owned the bus and who hired the driver, reported NewsChannel5's Duane Pohlman.Aqua Limo of Westlake had been identified as the owner of the bus and the driver's employer. But on Tuesday, NewsChannel5 received a statement from the owner of Aqua Limo, Don Kowalsky, stating his company doesn't own the bus and didn't employ the driver. He said both belong to the school, Arts Academy. But Arts Academy leaders were stunned to learn from NewsChannel5 that Kowalsky is blaming them. They strongly deny his claim, stating they neither own the bus nor employ the driver and that the bus is contracted from Aqua.A news conference is taking place at the school on Tuesday, where school officials are defending themselves.
