Reporter's Wife Gives Birth During Snowstorm

MEDINA, Ohio -- NewsChannel5's Bob Jones is the father to a new baby boy.His son, Logan Robert, was born Saturday at 10 a.m. during the biggest snowstorm to hit in 2008. He weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces. He was 19 1/4 inches long.The proud father talked to his colleagues for a live interview Saturday morning during special severe weather coverage and said it took him double the time it typically takes to get to the hospital.He also said he was concerned as to whether the doctors would be able to get to the hospital because of the heavy snowfall and low visibility. To his surprise, two doctors were prepared to help his wife with the delivery.Jones said he and his family are videotaping everything about this historic weather day to show Logan once he can understand it all. In fact, his live interview on NewsChannel5 will be part of the special coverage that will be shown to his son.Jones' wife, Julie, is doing fine. His daughter, Lindsay, will meet her little brother Saturday afternoon.
