CLEVELAND -- Mayor Frank Jackson promised an aggressive plan to fight crime, and Thursday is step one.Dozens of officers in all districts will conduct 20 hours of continuous enforcement for three days straight, going after drug dealers, gang members and guns.Members of the newly formed gang impact squad will be in neighborhoods throughout the city.The crackdown is welcome news to many in Slavic Village, including Mary James, who has been robbed at gunpoint five times inside her store.The crackdown won't end after three days; police are planning several more operations throughout the year.
