Police: Armed Robbers Tie Up Pizza Store Workers

POSTED: 3:12 pm EST January 23, 2008
UPDATED: 6:36 pm EST January 23, 2008

Police are asking for help in stopping two dangerous, gun-waving robbers whose crime was caught on tape.

The robbery took place at Giorgio's Pizza on West 69th Street and Detroit in Cleveland.

Two men jumped the county and pulled out guns, and workers were ordered to the floor at gunpoint.

One of the gunmen told the workers to put cash in a plastic bag. In a back room, the workers were tied up and the gunmen busted the computer they believe stored the surveillance video.

However, they were wrong and the clear video remained to help police in their investigation.

The gunmen wanted workers to open a safe, but when a police car drove by, the gunmen bolted.

Both robbers are believed to be about 20 years old and about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

They left the scene by running through nearby westside neighborhoods.

The Giorgio's Pizza employees were not hurt.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
