14-Year-Old Killed Trying To Cross Road

A 14-year-old was killed when he was hit by a pickup truck in Ashtabula County on Saturday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said that Paul R. Troyer, of Middlefield, was struck and killed at 4:55 p.m. as he exited a farm vehicle on South Windsor Road west of state Route 534 in Windsor Township.

Troopers said that a 2000 GMC Sierra truck driven by Michael J. Baker, 33, of Middlefield, was traveling west on South Windsor Road. A farm vehicle driven by Marvin R. Troyer, 17, of Middlefield, was traveling east. Troyer was struck as he crossed the roadway.

No one else was injured.

There was no immediate word if any charges will be filed.
