Patrols Stepped Up At University After 3 Sexual Assaults

AKRON, Ohio -- Police have stepped up patrols near the campus of the University of Akron after police said there have been three sexual attacks against coeds in the last several months. The increased patrol comes after a 21-year-old student was beaten and raped by a man who entered her Kling Street house at about 2:30 a.m. Monday. The man forced open a window to gain entrance to the woman's home, officials said. The university also sent out to students an e-mail warning Monday after the assault. University police are investigating the crime along with the Akron Police Department.Akron police spokesman Lt.
